Ukulele Kids Club Welcomes June Pinkham Back to the Board of Directors as Secretary

Manchester, NH, November 20th, 2025

The Ukulele Kids Club (UKC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children’s well-being through music therapy and the gift of ukuleles, is proud to announce the return of June Pinkham to its Board of Directors as Board Secretary beginning in 2026.

June brings decades of expertise in accounting, human resources, team leadership, nonprofit governance, and project/event management, paired with a remarkable track record of volunteer service and fundraising. Her professional background includes roles across multiple industries, with specialization in budget management, organizational planning, and process design.

A Proven Professional Committed to Mission-Driven Work

June recently served as a Staff Accountant for Katahdin Group, a CEO advisory and strategic planning collective. She previously spent more than a decade at Kurgo, a leading manufacturer of pet safety and travel gear, where she held dual roles as Staff Accountant and Human Resource Director from 2009–2021. June also served on the Kurgo Foundation Board of Directors, where she chaired the Grant Committee and oversaw more than $50,000 in grants awarded to nonprofits supporting the human–canine bond. Her additional leadership experience includes a decade on the Great Bay Yacht Club Board of Governors, where she acted as Treasurer and coordinated regattas and committee activities.

SNHUG: A Decade of Impact Through Music

June is best known within the UKC community for her invaluable leadership of the Southern New Hampshire Ukulele Group (SNHUG). Since 2012, as organizer of this 800-member performance and community-outreach group, she has:

  • Coordinated performances at fundraisers, senior centers, hospitals, churches, and veterans’ groups.
  • Managed song lists, practice schedules, outreach efforts, and volunteer coordination.
  • Led one of the most successful grassroots fundraising partnerships in UKC history.

Under her leadership, SNHUG has raised $127,000 for the Ukulele Kids Club to date, providing instruments and musical support to countless children and families, and she also plays an instrumental role each year in planning and organizing the New England Ukulele Festival, one of the region’s most beloved community ukulele  events.

A Welcome Return to the Board

June previously served on the UKC Board of Directors, where she was widely appreciated for her organization, reliability, and thoughtful governance. Her return as Secretary strengthens UKC’s ability to maintain strong board processes and ensure compliance, transparency, and effective communication as the organization continues to grow nationwide.

The organization provides ukuleles and online music therapy support to children in hospitals and pediatric facilities across the United States. Since its inception in 2013, UKC has donated over 16,000 ukuleles to children in collaboration with over 350 music therapy sites around the world.
