The UKC Introduces NEW Resource for Music Therapists – and those who love them

Facebook | Apr 11, 2018

We are proud and so happy to introduce a new set of apps and resources for all the music therapists out there! Today, to coincide with Vice President Stephanie Epstein’s turn as CMTE instructor, we are announcing a new shared library of music therapy information, the UKC Resource Portal. This new resource features two innovative and useful applications, as well as a music-therapy resource library where tabs, song sheets, chords and other information geared toward music therapists will reside. The UKC Resource Portal is created by music therapists, for music therapists as well as music therapy students, interns and anyone who loves making music with our favorite four-stringed instrument.

The apps included in the portal include FretTab for Ukulele Kids Club is a simplified redesign of the basic tablature format, and Chordette for Ukulele Kids Club, a chord library program. Both programs mesh seamlessly with word-processing programs such as Word, Pages and Google Docs, and are available for Mac OS and Windows. With FretTab, you can build tablature files using keystroke information, or by copying and pasting chords into the document. Chordette is available for multiple tunings and can create song sheets, chord charts, or your own chord book with just the chords you want.

Once you make your custom chords or tablatures, you can then upload them to the UKC Resource Portal, with an ever-expanding library of tabs and song sheets created by other music therapists! Our goal is to become the go-to resource for song sheets, tabs, chords and other information created by music therapists, with music therapy applications in mind.

We’re already off to the races! To access the UKC Resource Portal, submit this form: https://ukulelekidsclub.circle.so/c/ukc-at-home/
